Volpe rescued from a breeding farm spends his first Christmas in the wild

Maciek, a polar fox who was rescued from a farm in Poland last year, where he lived in poor conditions.

It is a heartening story of Maciek, a polar fox who was rescued from a farm in Poland last year, where he lived in poor conditions.

Millions of animals are tortured and killed every year for vanity and business, just to make their fur coat. 85% of these are raised in terrible structures, forced to live in tiny cages with little water and scarce food, killed with sticks or with gas.

It would also have been the end of this little Siberian fox, fortunately saved by some young people who found her on a farm in Poland.

Until last year Maciek lived in a dirty cage, in the cold, alone and in pain. She was hungry and the texture of the cage hurt her paws. The little fox, locked in the rusty cage, was very wary and scared when these guys decided to free her and take her with them.

Maciek was very ill, so she was immediately taken to the vet for necessary treatment. Not having received the right attention and adequate nourishment, her health was very bad.

After a period of rest and getting used to the human presence, Maciek has adapted perfectly to her new life. She now lives with one of the boys who saved her in an adequate space where she receives the right care. She loves pumpkin and she also has a new friend. The two get along perfectly, play together and keep each other company.

This is the first Christmas she spends in freedom and in her new family, where she is finally loved and respected. What may seem like a Christmas miracle, is actually the result of the careful work of those people who wanted to investigate the poor conditions of animals on farms.

That Maciek's case is indeed a story of joy, but also an example of how barbaric the breeding of animals for the production of fur is.

Many countries are putting an end to this havoc or banning the breeding of animals for the production of fur or promoting restrictions capable of leading to the discontinuation of this activity.
