Found by a diver who wanted to check if by chance she needed help, in no time she was joined by hundreds of curious swimmers who wanted to photograph themselves with her, while the animal clearly tries to free itself.

“That specimen was almost certainly in the sunning position, sunbathing on the surface to warm its body. You should never touch animals in the water. If they seem to be in difficulty, the Coast Guard or the WWF must be called immediately ”, explains Gianluca Cirelli, from the WWF in Policoro.
Either way, the stressful condition may have been harmful or even fatal to her and any eggs she was carrying.
