He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himA truck overturns on the A14 motorway, releasing tens of thousands of chicks. It happened yesterday shortly after noon along the north lane of the A14, just before the Bevano service area. The vehicle ended up over the road and overturned. The animals were headed for a paduan farm.
They had a few hours of freedom and for quite a while they took possession of the highway, blocking traffic. In fact, due to the strong impact, the tailgate of the box opened and the chicks came out of the vehicle.
The accident that took place yesterday involved a driver of Albanian origin, who remained unharmed but the man who was with him, a 59-year-old Romanian citizen, was transported by helicopter to the Bufalini trauma center in Cesena. Fortunately, he is not in danger of life.
Firefighters and traffic police officers also intervened on the spot. Traffic remained paralyzed for a long time and the situation was released only after 16 pm. Discomfort for motorists, who remained in columns for hours waiting for the motorway to be cleared of the gathering of chicks, destined for Padua.
The little ones were almost all alive but the fate that awaits them is certainly not rosy. The chicks were temporarily taken to a Forlì hatchery but soon they will end up in the breeding farm in the province of Padua, where they were headed before the accident.
A few moments of freedom before the new imprisonment.
