Sometimes we can naively think that it is a good thing to feed wild animals, in reality it is not so and we should not do it under any circumstances (let alone in this we are about to tell you). The story of a monkey from Bangkok who became obese after people repeatedly fed her junk food at the market testifies this dramatically.

The monkey you see in the picture is called Godzilla and lives most of the time tied to a market stall in the Min Buri district of Bangkok. She is severely obese from people who have fed her too much food, in most cases junk food. 

While primates of her species normally weigh between 8 and 10 pounds, Godzilla is double that and has now come in at over 20 pounds.

The shopkeeper said he adopted Godzilla when she was abandoned by a previous owner and always treated and fed her well but was unable to keep her weight under control as many curious people feed him and: 

"Since growing up fed by humans, he no longer knows how to find food in nature on his own"

A serious damage to which wild animals are exposed if they are wrongly fed by humans.

Among other things, the following video, broadcast on a local news, shows the completely distorted monkey, linked to its owner's stall and holding a plastic bottle while passersby caress it and enjoy looking at it. In short, it does not seem to us that she is being treated very well, indeed we suspect that she is being used to attract more customers.

It is not the first time that a monkey has been found in such conditions of obesity, years ago the story of Uncle Fatty had already been around the world, whose weight had increased dramatically after being gorged with junk food by passers-by but who then , after being put on a diet, she mysteriously disappeared.

Godzilla is almost as heavy as Uncle Fatty, who weighed a whopping 27kg and was believed to be between 10 and 15 years old.
