Thirsty Koala stops a group of cyclists to drink some water from their bottles, it happened in Australia, hit by yet another heat wave.

This koala he was so exhausted by the heat that seeing some cyclists arriving along the road, he stopped them in desperation to drink some water from the bottles.

The group of cyclists he was heading for Adelaide, hit by yet another heat wave with temperatures around 40 degrees, when, all of a sudden, he saw the koala sitting in the middle of the road.

The cyclists stopped to check if he needed help and he, thirsty, approached to drink from a bottle of water, even climbing on the bike, which is unusual for a wild animal, as the cyclist told 7News:

"I stopped on my bike and he came up to me, quickly enough for a koala, and while I was giving him a drink from all of our water bottles, he got on my bike."

Anna Heusler shared the images immortalizing the koala on Instagram, pointing out that these animals unfortunately often suffer from thirst due to the uncontrollable heat:

“This koala is very thirsty due to a heat wave. This Koala approached me as I got off and climbed onto my bike while I gave him water to drink. ".

In fact, the high temperatures are claiming many victims: koalas often die of thirst, others of starvation due to the shortage of eucalyptus leaves due to the devastation of the forests, or are badly burned in the fires, as was the case in Lewis long ago, the koala saved from the flames and died a short time later.

An alarming situation that could even lead to the extinction of these animals within 30 years.
