    It has been burning for months, claiming victims among dozens of protected and endangered species: in Brazil not only the Amazon is on fire, but also the Pantanal, the largest wetland in the world, a Unesco heritage site. And from here, the image of a jaguar with bandaged paws it was one of those that most shocked everyone in this tragic moment. But now she is doing better thanks to a stem cell treatment.





    Rescued by the Navy last August 17 with the support of the NGO Ampara Silvestre, the jaguar was in really critical condition, with all four legs practically burned. She was immediately subjected to intensive treatment.

    Since his rescue, that injured jaguar has become a symbol of a veritable environmental disaster. Associations and activists have mobilized for him and one of them, the artist Mundano, has redesigned the banknote of the 50 Brazilian Real (which shows the figure of a jaguar), bringing back the image of the poor animal with bandaged paws.
