Despite being tiny - just one centimeter in diameter - they manage to give life to gods wonderful squiggles that decorate the sandy beaches of some tropical regions of the Indo-Pacific.
They are gods small crabs belonging to the species of Scopimera globosa of the family Dotillidae which live in the tunnels dug underground along the Japanese ribs.
During low tide to find the organisms it feeds on, this crab sift the sand forming characteristic balls that, placed one next to the other, form drawings on the beach.

There are hundreds, sometimes thousands of small galaxies, created out of necessity: the crab, in fact, after searching for food creates a ball in such a way that it does not pass twice on the sand already examined. The long work starts right from the your ass and lasts as long as the tide permits.
The crab that it camouflages itself completely in the golden color of its natural habitat, it has a spherical body and long pincers that help it move easily. The result is what you see in these photos, artwork completely made of grains of sand.
