Tenacious as never before because although disturbed by swimmers who between cell phones and confusion made it escape three times, in the end the Caretta Caretta managed to nest on the beach of Ogliastro in Cilento.
A feat that lasted several hours, the turtle went up three times to lay its eggs, but on its way it encountered umbrellas, deck chairs and sun loungers, without considering curious people who immortalized it with their mobile phones. Not to mention that even someone threw it back into the sea.

Fortunately, however, the timely intervention of the Sea Turtle Research Center of the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station has brought the situation back to normal and clarifications and recommendations arrive from the Facebook page:
"A little clarification on the turtle that is trying to nest on the beach between Ogliastro and Montecorice: This is the same turtle that has risen 3 times on three different points of the beach this afternoon, the first time it collided with sunbeds and mattresses and is back to sea. The second dug but was approached and stroked for which it went away again. The third time she had come up and was thrown back into the sea. In case someone sees it: observe the spectacle of nature from afar, please do not come near, call us and we will come immediately, we are already in the area ".
Eventually the turtle returned late at night when the beach was finally deserted. The nest is on the Montecorice beach and the eggs are monitored by the team of the Dohrn center and by the volunteers Enpa and Legambiente of Salerno.
The Caretta caretta has been renamed Sea Water, while the area has been made safe for the hatching of the eggs which should take place at the end of September.
Just a few days ago, a turtle was crushed by a tractor. Accidental but always horrible episodes towards our animal friends. What we have been recommending for years now is not to disturb the turtles, but to observe the wonderful spectacle of life from afar.
