“It caused his intestinal obstruction, causing an infection which then caused his death before he could intervene with another surgery”, explain the veterinarians of the CReS of Oristano where he was hospitalized.

A Caretta caretta turtle she was saved from the consequences of marine pollution by a child.
It happened on the beach of Villaputzu, in Sardinia. Little Gabriele noticed the turtle specimen near the shore, trapped in plastic waste.
The child immediately notified his parents, who then proceeded to contact the Forestry Corps of Muravera.
THEtimely intervention by Gabriele was decisive: the turtle was in fact transferred to a specialized facility in Oristano, where the veterinarians tried to rescue and save the life of the animal.
In addition to plastic wrapped around the turtle's body, doctors also detected the presence of a hook stuck in the mouth of the animal. The hook was removed through a surgical operation and for the next few days the specimen will be kept under observation before being released into the wild.
La turtle saved by little Gabriel it is only the last of the animals that were victims of the pollution of our seas, now invaded by plastic remains.
Thanks to the readiness and sensitivity of the child, this time it was possible to save the life of the specimen, but there are many animals that unfortunately die after ingesting or becoming entangled in plastic waste reaching the marine environment.
