    It is a male specimen called C1, born two and a half years ago in Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, in the state of Maharashtra.

    In fact, experts believe that the animal is looking for a new territory in which to find prey and mates, which are in short supply due to the destruction of its natural habitat.

    In recent years, the number of tigers has fortunately increased in India, but the same cannot be said habitat which, on the other hand, continues to shrink, with a consequent decrease in possible prey. For this, the tigers are forced to explore new territories.

    The movements of the animal are monitored thanks to a radio collar and show a path that is anything but linear: since it left the sanctuary, the tiger it passed through seven districts in Maharashtra and Telangana and so far from satellite information it appears to have visited over 5.000 locations.

    Despite the long road traveled, people do not even notice the presence of the tiger, as the animal remains hidden in the woods during the day and travels during the night, killing wild pigs.

    Until today, the tiger accidentally injured only one person who met the animal while resting in the bush.

    Wildlife officials believe however necessary to capture and transfer the tiger in the nearest forest both to avoid future accidents and because the collar is discharging and therefore its tracks could be lost very soon.
