Like every morning, a man from Adelaide in Australia was checking if the eggs of the Margarita duck that lives in his garden in the wild had hatched when he did. a pleasant discovery.
Next to the eggs, there was a baby opossum orphan that bewildered he had taken refuge under the warm wings of Margarita who had not only welcomed him with her, but had made him remain among her precious eggs.
The story was posted on the Facebook page of Fauna Rescue of South Australia with the beautiful pictures of the little possum between Margarita's wings.
“Probably the possum left alone, he looked for a safe haven for the night and to shelter from the cold. When he came across the duck's nest, the animal didn't chase it, but rather adopted it, doing everything to make him feel loved in a comfortable place ”, they explain from the organization.
The man immediately called there FRSA, because despite the good will of the duck, the opossum needed concrete help from those who have also been dealing with this species for years.
The possum was named Daisy and now it will spend some time in the reserve, but as soon as it is ready it will be released into its natural habitat.
