Exhausted, skeletal and clearly in pain. This also happens inside a cage at the Cominlla Zoo in Bangladesh. Juboraj is 18 years old, he is ill but continues to be an attraction for hundreds of visitors.

Not even that helpless gaze stops those who have continued to finance zoos around the world for years. After a past life in captivity, without being able to run, live peacefully in what should have been his natural habitat, now Juboraj is not even granted the dignity and freedom to die away from cameras and photographic lenses.

Suffering and pain which seem to be of no interest to those who see these places of horror. The lion stands up with all his strength but is clearly fatigued. Reduced to skin and bones, it no longer scares even a cat standing behind the predator.

What is left of the King of the Forest? A sick, malnourished being that causes a sensation. We often document the situation at the zoo and unfortunately the lion is not the only living being to be a tool in the hands of those who, for economic profit, use animals to their liking.

Often mistreated, drugged, locked up in confined spaces, lions, giraffes, hippos no longer have any dignity left. These images have traveled the world and once again focus attention on the issue of animals in captivity.

Emaciated #Lion is so skinny you can see it’s SPINE as visitors fear it is slowly dying in enclosure in a Bangladesh zoo. The animal is currently given its medication via darts fired from zoo keepers!! ??

And unfortunately he is not the only animal to suffer in zoos:

But often, despite these unlikely situations, one also finds the courage to deny the evidence. Authorities argue that behind the lion's condition there is no mistreatment but only complications related to his advanced age.

Complications which, however, are probably also due to the life led by the poor lion, in fact we know that in nature these predators have a completely different old age. And we are tired of showing so much suffering, no longer able to understand who really can think that all this can be a fun game.

To stop the horror not only for the lion, but for all the animals, a petition was launched to ask the government to close the zoo.
