Many of them have died and now the hope is to save the unborn turtles on the beach of Specchiarica, in San Pietro in Bevagna in Taranto. The hatching took place on the night of Saturday 25 August, while this morning shortly after four o'clock new specimens were born and fortunately for them there was a different fate. The volunteers who had identified the nest, directed them towards the sea, lighting the path with torches.
