Similar to manta rays, the stingrays they are characterized by a flat rhomboid body.
The photographer immortalized 68 of them on May 17th. He then shared the photos on Facebook, asking for clarification:

We are Is Benas, a town in the province of Oristano. Here, among the crystalline waters, man has seen dozens and dozens of dead stingrays.
The news went around the web and his appeal was accepted. Andrea de Lucia of the CNR of Oristano together with the Coast Guard recovered two specimens, a male and a female, and took them to the zooprophylactic for analysis, the results of which are not yet known.
The most plausible but at the same time chilling hypothesis is that the stingrays have been accidentally caught by post netsa, but considering their low commercial value they would have been thrown back into the sea by the fishermen themselves.

Usually, anglers throw the fish offshore, away from the it costs. In this case, however, the current will have brought the fish to shore, perhaps snagged nearby.
Who knows how many other times it happens, without anyone noticing.
