He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

The Spanish Civil Guard has identified and reported the man who last summer killed a female Iberian lynx a Menasalbas, Toledo.

An agent found the lynx's lifeless body last June in a hunting ground in Montes de Toledo. The female lynx found dead yes chiamava water lily and had been released in the wild in February 2017, as part of the Project for the recovery of species in the territory.

At the time of death, Nenúfar had recently given birth to four puppies that she was nursing: one of the babies was found dead a few days after the killing of their mother and it is assumed that her three siblings also had the same fate, although their bodies have never been found.

The hunter defended himself by declaring that he killed the lynx by mistake and that he believed he had shot a fox, but now he could suffer a heavy penalty: killing Nenúfar could cost the man up to two years of imprisonment in addition to a four-year ban on hunting and financial compensation for damage to the natural heritage, which could exceed 100.000 euros.

Activists of the Ecologistas en Acción of Toledo believe this killing is particularly serious since it caused harm to an endangered species.
The association considers it an aggravating circumstance that the death of Nenúfar also led to the death of the four puppies, therefore will ask for the maximum penalty required by law for crimes against protected wildlife.

According to Ecologistas en Acción during this year Twelve lynx were killed in Montes de Toledo, of which at least four by the hand of hunters. To these must be added the four puppies that Nenúfar was raising.
Despite being a protected species, it appears that the Ministry of Sustainable Development is not working to protect these animals in the hunting grounds.
Activists have requested a meeting at the ministry for clarification and to ask that more be done to prosecute similar acts, which cause enormous damage to biodiversity.
