Unfortunately this type of treatment can concern not only large dairy farms but also smaller realities. Unfortunately, treating animals only as commodities is a trend that can affect any type of farming.
Safe, an organization that advocates for animal rights in New Zealand, shot this video in the Waikato district. Her cow is with her now dead calf that lies a few meters from her.
The cow cannot move, it is forced to stay still with a painful and excruciating method that is considered illegal and that only in case of need it can be used for no more than 10 minutes to lift and move animals. It should be loosened and removed as soon as possible.

The scene of a mother cow being prevented from moving in front of the lifeless calf it's heartbreaking to say the least. He can't get close to the little one and he can't do anything. Such a practice thus appears even more cruel.

The cows they are very intelligent animals and emotional, able to perceive pain just like any other animal or human being. Cows definitely deserve better treatment.
