There are no cages, but there are animals that jump into the fiery circle, do stunts and play with the ball. The magic is called Roncalli circus, the first German circus where animals are holograms!

For some years now, the German circus has said goodbye to animals, but it must be said that, even before, the Roncalli had only one pony and one horse on the track, so it was already counted among the virtuous circus structures.

“The circus is also driven by socio-cultural trends and now is the time for the Roncalli Circus to follow them as well”, says Bernhard Paul, director and founder.

Finally, someone figured it out. We are tired of seeing animals sedated, abused and locked up in tiny cages, far from their natural habitat.

We had already told you about another circus without animals, that of André-Joseph Bouglione, a former tamer and director of the circus Joseph Bouglione, who for about a year has been transformed into the Ecocirque. A decision that Bouglione took together with his wife Sandrine, also a former tamer, because she was tired of seeing the suffering of animals.

In the Roncalli circus, on the other hand, the animals are replaced by holograms, thanks to 11 projectors, the spectators seem to see tigers, elephants and much more.

“No more animals in a complex that wants to be innovative but wants to keep the traditional Circus label with a charm of the times gone by. The circus is called Circustheater Roncalli, hoping to be able to continue to attend a circus show ”, continues the director.

The circus was founded in 1976 and was also the first circus to perform in West Germany.

But it doesn't end there, because among the next goals there is also that of becoming plastic free, in short, a circus that we really like!
