In Indonesia along the banks of the Palu River near the island of Sulawesi there is a crocodile of about 5 meters in length which has become infamous among the locals because for over 6 years he lived with a motorcycle tire around his neck.
The story of the animal had gone around the country and pitied the local authorities and many islanders who, with the passage of time, were increasingly worried that the tire could sooner or later suffocate the crocodile, but no one had succeeded. so far to free the mighty reptile from that object that was growing with it, getting tighter and tighter.
Already in 2020 there had been some attempts to capture the crocodile, even by experts, but the reptile had always managed to wriggle out from the ropes that were supposed to hold him in place to remove his rubber collar.
The animal's whereabouts were tracked for weeks and the government even offered a hefty reward to anyone who could help the crocodile, but to no avail.
On Monday 7th February a 35 year old young man from the island of Sulawesi named Tili, tired of seeing that scene recurring again and again before his eyes, decided to try it again. collecting ropes and cloths everywhere to immobilize the reptile. With the help of the other inhabitants of the island and using bait, he managed to attract the crocodile to the mainland where with courage and cold blood he proceeded to block the animal and its jaws, cover its eyes and proceed without wasting time. at the vise removal.
Many of the islanders could not believe that this boy had succeeded in the operation that others had failed, yet he did. Tili says he is very respectful of all living beings on Earth, that he cannot see any animal suffer, whether it be a dog, a snake or a crocodile. The boy knew he could help the huge reptile and he did.
The crocodile was released soon after, on Monday evening, in the waters of the Palu river and now he lives free without the tire around his neck that because of someone had ended up in his habitat and had become part of him.
