Terrible, fish "rain" from the sky. This is how fishing ponds in Utah are filled

    Terrible, fish

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources has decided to throw thousands of fish from a flying plane to repopulate 200 mountain lakes.

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, which guards the wildlife of the US state, has decided to  launch thousands of fish from a flying plane to repopulate 200 mountain lakes.

Although officials say the fish easily survive the crash without injury, the method seems cruel. These living beings are treated as real objects: a single aircraft can release 35.000 young individuals - mostly trout -, crammed during the journey in a few cubic meters of water. A tremendous practice that sees the little ones, bred specifically for fishing, thrown indelicately like confetti.

The fate of these animals? The lines: they can be hand, rod and towed. They consist of a long cable on which one or more hooks are inserted, where the fish bites because it is attracted by a bait. The terrible injuries are caused precisely by the use of the hook, the removal of which entails further suffering for the animals that can suffer other injuries and be exposed to acute stress.

Transportation is no better than landing: the images show how these poor fish are racked from barrel to barrel in the sun before being thrown into lakes.

How many other "falls" will we have to see even before this practice is stopped? It is time to say "enough" to the supply of fish stocks for fishing, a practice that takes place under the eyes of all and that causes damage to animals and the entire ecosystem.
