I baby orangutans they learn to survive by imitating the behaviors of their mothers. But what happens when they are orphaned? An association that helps animals in danger has decided to give life to one survival school in the forest for the little orangutans.
The survival of orangutans on the island of Sumatra and in Borneo is in danger. There deforestation for the cultivation of oil palms and to obtain cellulose is destroying their natural habitat. More and more orangutans are losing their parents and are in danger of not surviving.
The association Borneo Orangutan Rescue is looking after them and has confirmed that the orangutans are suffering and dying from the systematic destruction of the rainforest especially in Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of Borneo.
Borneo Orangutan Rescue takes care of looking after baby orangutans and rescuing and healing them when they are injured. The orangutan care center arranges for them to be prepared for return to their habitat. To the little orphaned orangutans all it takes to survive in the forest is taught, for example climbing trees.
In this way the orangutan cubs find the opportunity to continue living in their natural environment, thanks to a real 'school in the forest' and under the watchful eye of those who take care of them. Thanks to the efforts of volunteers to save the orangutans, all is not lost.
