In a Bangkok supermarket, a chick emerged from a box of eggs destined for sale, rescued and adopted by the owner of the shop

Khun Pukpik is the owner of a grocery store in Bangkok, Thailand, who captured a very unusual fact in a video. As she was arranging the goods in her shop, she started hearing noises from a moving egg carton and suddenly, a small beak appeared. A chick was born in the shop!
The woman helped the chick break the egg completely in order to get out and then immediately put it in a safe box and decided to keep it by commenting:
“I was a little surprised when I saw the chick move around in the package. We all agree and will keep it as a pet. He was very lucky, he could have been eaten like Balut ”.
Balut is a popular dish in Southeast Asia, consisting of a boiled egg, usually duck, fertilized and with a nearly developed embryo inside. They are mainly sold by street vendors in Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam. Really lucky this chick then!
The video of the unusual birth was shared on YouTube and immediately went viral.
This type of event is not common as most of the eggs that supermarket and food sell come from intensive farms where they are not fertilized by roosters. But, in the case of the eggs of free range hens, even if very rarely, the birth of a "chick" can happen as they are less controlled and it may happen that a rooster is able to fertilize the eggs.
Even if this happens, however, it is then difficult to actually witness a birth as the eggs are refrigerated and end up in the supermarket.
But this chick defied every statistic and came into the world.
