According to the testimonies, the most disconcerting fact is that the dogs did not live in Cuernavaca, where the funeral took place, but in Merida, where the woman used to bring them something to eat every day.
The photographs showing the dogs around the coffin went viral on the web within days, receiving thousands of views. In the last years of her life Margarita brought food to a colony of 20 cats daily who gathered in front of his door every morning and to numerous dogs he met on the street.
Unfortunately earlier this month her health deteriorated forcing her to move to Cuernavaca, where she died a few days later. For a few days she therefore had to abandon the dogs and cats she was taking care of because of the disease and then leave this world.
Despite its absence the dogs that had grown fond of her have not forgotten about her. Margarita had moved from Merida to Cuernavaca, to her daughter's house, hoping to recover, but unfortunately her health deteriorated in a short time.
After the woman's death, the funeral home was set up and right here the dogs began to arrive and gather. At first they were thought to be local dogs, but none of those present had recognized them. They later realized that the dogs had traveled all the way from Merida to Cuernavaca.
During the preparation for the funeral, the dogs waited patiently. The dogs spent the next night with the family and remained in the company of the woman's relatives until shortly before her cremation, which took place in the morning. The woman's sister, Patricia, firmly believes that the dogs were angels who came to greet her mother in her final moments.
At first glance it may seem like a singular story, but this is not the first case in which animals accompany humans to their last breath. Even a bird attended the funeral, as evidenced by a video filmed by those present. A truly moving story that allows us to understand how strong the bond of pets or stray animals is with those who took care of them.
