He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himThe president of the Autonomous Province of Trento Maurizio Fugatti revoked the order of 27 August which ordered the capture and detention of any bear that, although without causing damage, it had approached the inhabited centers of the Municipalities of Andalo and Dimaro Folgarida. But the battle in defense of the bears continues.
The appeal was presented by animal welfare associations that have long been asking for rights for the bears of Trentino, increasingly harassed by man. The decision comes a few hours before the deadline for submitting any deed to the TAR.
“A tactical resolution, of course, to void our legal action, but which is, quite clearly, our victory. Very good! It was what we wanted an ordinance that did not stand up, neither in the presuppositions of necessity and urgency, nor in the crusade for the life imprisonment of unknown, unidentified bears who dare to look out at night, to never show up again, next to a dumpster in Andalo, Folgarida and neighboring towns ”, explains Enpa.
A breath of fresh air that comes while there is still a trial pending for the annulment of the order to capture the JJ4 bear, mother of three cubs, and for the protection of the three bears held at the Casteller.

“This decision makes us happy and we recognize its common sense. Our legal battles continue ”, comments Massimo Comparotto, president of Oipa. The text of the revocation order proves that, with good monitoring and some simple expedients, such as the installation of anti-bear bins, and perhaps with some extra precautions on the part of citizens and tourists, the risks of " colliding ”with a bear, explains the association again.
We remind you that the Oipa has submitted to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Trento an application for preventive seizure of the Wildlife Center of the Autonomous Province of Trento "Casteller" due to the inability of the structure to host the bears currently detained, and the others that are expected to be captured. The request for seizure is added to the complaint for maltreatment already filed for the bear M49 which, following the results of the inspection in the detention center carried out by the experts sent by the Ministry of the Environment, was supplemented by a lawsuit to protect also of the other two bears.
