More and more hungry polar bears, the moment when 10 specimens attack a garbage truck in search of food

The images that come from Siberia and that show once again the state in which the bears find themselves, more and more hungry, are loving.

There were 10. They surrounded a truck carrying garbage. The vehicle was stopped at that moment, so they got on board and feasted on the scraps. The images that come from Siberia and that show once again the state in which the bears find themselves, more and more hungry, are loving.

A scene shown in a film that has been around the world. The bears were prowling near a road, apparently in search of food, when a truck stopped due to mechanical failure. It was then that the bears, attracted by the smell of the garbage, started searching the vehicle. In all 10 bears, 6 adults and 4 cubs, stormed the garbage truck. The occupants of the vehicle in front of them filmed the incident. Four of the adult specimens managed to climb onto the bodywork.

The driver of the vehicle seems impassive and simply makes a phone call even though one of the bears is standing against the windshield in front of him. A lack of reaction, on the part of humans, probably due to the fact that encounters like these are becoming more and more common in the Russian Arctic.

Although all the bears that appear in the video don't look skinny, the author of the clip suggests that hunger is the main hypothesis of this siege.

“Look what's happening, the bears are hungry. Now they're climbing inside! " a man exclaims as he honks his horn in an attempt to help the driver trapped inside the vehicle.

More and more hungry bears

In Siberia but in general throughout the Arctic, bears are struggling with food shortages. Such animals often appear hungry and emaciated. At the origin are climate changes that melt the sea ice on which they hunt bears, forcing them south and towards human settlements in search of nourishment.

For the first time in history, the Arctic ice has not yet formed

This affects their diet because it prevents them from hunting seals, their favorite prey. In fact, we are depriving animals of their habitat and the possibility of obtaining food. And that could even lead to extinction within the next few decades.

The study warns that polar bears may disappear mostly from the Arctic by 2100

Last winter, 56 polar bears surrounded a city in the far north of Russia's Chukotka region, forcing residents to cancel public events to avoid having a possibly risky encounter with one of these huge creatures. They also entered some houses:

Unfortunately, this video is not an isolated case, but yet another testimony of the threats that bears are facing due to the climate crisis. The situation is so alarming that cases of polar bears resorting to cannibalism have increased in recent years in the Arctic. They kill and eat their own kind, an unusual behavior that occurs due to a lack of food.
