According to the experts, therefore, even the EU was aware of it but this news has never been made public. The researchers, confirming this risk, have carried out analyzes for months and have discovered that the genetically modified crops on which Roundup is used contain a pathogen that can cause abortion beautiful animals.
An independent study previously carried out by Argentine scientists also found that Roundup was responsible for malformations in frogs and poultry at concentrations much lower than those found in sprayed fields.
Don Huber, professor emeritus at Purdue University, wrote an open letter to US Agriculture Minister Tom Vilsack, in which he wrote: “It is well documented that the glyphosate promotes soil pathogenesis and is already involved in the increase of over 40 plant diseases, but it dismantles plant defenses against chelators, vital nutrients, and reduces bioavailability nutrients in animal feed, which in turn can cause animal-based disorders. "
Impossible to ignore it again. The EU is not of the same opinion. The authorization of glyphosate was due to be reviewed in 2012, but the Commission has muted a directive that sets the review, together with that of 38 other pesticides, for 2015.
Claire Robinson, co-author of the study, explained: “There appears to have been a deliberate will to cover up the truth by the chemical industry (explainable but not justifiable) and by those who had to control (inexplicable and unjustifiable). All this on the skin of public safety.
