The cetaceans were released into the Okhotsk Sea, according to the Federal Research Institute for Fisheries and Oceanography.
“Two killer whales and six belugas were released after undergoing readaptation procedures and tests; in addition, satellite tags have been placed on animals. All ten orcas from Srednyaya Bay were released into the sea, ”a statement read.
Let's remember this is the fourth phase of the operation to free the whales that began on 22 August. The animals were brought to the sea coast from Srednyaya Bay through Khabarovsk and Nikolayev district and now they are finally free!
