Hunting safari company in South Africa has launched shocking offer that will further increase the threat of extinction for lions
He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himMukulu African Hunting Safaris, a company that organizes hunting tours in South Africa, has launched a shocking promotion for its customers: hunters who manage to kill a lion will have the right to kill a lioness for free.
A disconcerting "2X1" offer that we normally see on supermarket shelves, applied to the life of wild animals: a real outrage when you consider that the African lion population has decreased by 40% in the last 20 years, according to data provided by the United Nations.
The prices to be able to hunt lions vary between 13.500 and 27.000 euros, depending on the category in which the animal is inserted. Thanks to the shocking offer of the safari company it is possible kill a lioness at no extra cost after killing the first lion, with a saving of around 10 thousand euros.
The offer has expired the animal rights activists and associations that fight every day to stop theabsurd practice of hunting.
Eduardo Gonçalves, founder of the "Ban Trophy Hunting" campaign explained that unfortunately killing animals on safaris is an activity that attracts more and more people:
“The trophy hunting business is booming. Before it was only the noble landowners and army colonels who hunted safaris, today they are engineers, service company executives or retirees who kill animals for fun, ”said the activist.
The companies that organize hunting safaris are more and more numerous and the offers are increasing: there are also last minute promotions and discounts applied in particular situations.
Another hunting safari company, for example, offers hunting excursions in South Africa which last 5 days during which you have the possibility to choose 7 different species of animals for an approximate value of 2000 euros.
According to Gonçalves, massive lion hunting in South African wildlife reserves is causing a dangerous reduction in these felines.
This involves, in addition to a direct threat to the species, a decrease in genetic variability among animals, which causes diseases, deformities in the new born and premature deaths.
“It's like Black Friday, but for animals, every day is a black day. We are facing an extinction crisis, but we are allowing more and more hunters to shoot rare and endangered animals, ”concluded Gonçalves.
These aberrant hunting offers do only that worsen an already very serious situation concerning wild animals.
