Kenny, the deformed white tiger born from the forced interbreeding of blood relatives

Kenny is a deformed white tiger born from the forced interbreeding of blood relatives: his story sheds light on a sad truth about his fellow men.

Kenny she was a majestic one White Tiger with a somewhat curious expression, with its short and wide muzzle, and squinting eyes. Bizarre appearance due to physical and mental disabilities, attributed toforced crossbreeding between brothers.

White tigers of the same blood are often forcibly mated to produce others that are totally pure, so that they can be sold to zoos, hotels and various consumers at disproportionate prices. They are in fact sought after because they are mistakenly considered endangered.

Often, however, the couplings do not work and so did Kenny, who was born with facial deformities and an abnormal formation of the mouth that prevented her from closing it, even if it was not Down Syndrome, as reported by some media.

Its appearance considered unpleasant, and therefore unappetizing by potential buyers, led it to end up in 2000, about 2 years old, at the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge.

They spotted her by chance, answering a call from a man who wanted to sell her, a desperate breeder whom the staff of the center convinced to abandon the white tiger farms forever.

Disappeared in 2008, at the age of 10, she gained popularity due to her anomalous appearance but she is not the only tiger in her family to have been the victim of dangerous crossings. His brother Willie was also born with a strong squint caused by inbreeding, and for this he was taken to the same shelter where he lived for 12 years. Equally cruel fate was the one that struck the parents, Conway and Loretta, siblings born healthy but considered unsuitable for raising normal puppies and therefore discarded. They lived 21 years.

The whole truth about white tigers

According to Susan Bass of the Florida sanctuary Big Cat Rescue (BCR), white tigers have not been seen in the wild since the 50s and today's tigers are all the result of countless generations of inbreeding forced by men, to obtain the double recessive gene which is responsible for the characteristic white coat.

According to reports from the Big Cat Rescue, these crosses between siblings, between mother / father and children, they are not harmless at all because cause countless problems: crossed optic nerves, shorter lifespan, kidney disorders, spinal problems, squinted eyes and also from an aesthetic point of view, in most cases, these tigers are deformed, which is why they are often discarded by breeders.

Furthermore it is not an endangered species, myth hard to die according to Big Cat Rescue, but of tigers born from dangerous crosses, still carried out today in the hope of obtaining some perfect puppy, discarding all the others, the majority, due to deformities. Even the myth of the rare white Bengal tiger would therefore be an illusion aimed at deceiving the public.
