Not having the possibility to drink anymore, the monkey has gone mad: many people have been injured and for this reason, the community has decided to have it captured.

When she was locked up at the Kanpurl Zoo, veterinarians found out why she was aggressive: Kalua is an alcoholic and refused to eat fruit and vegetables because she was used to a purely carnivorous diet. This, coupled with alcohol, would have triggered her violent behavior.

Kalua is now six years old and lives alone in a cage.

“We kept her in solitary confinement for a few months and then moved her to a separate cage. There has been no change in her behavior and she remains aggressive. It has been three years since she was brought here, but it has now been decided that she will remain in captivity for life, ”said zoo doctor Mohd Nasir.
