Arrived in Toronto for a gala in his honor at the Toronto Film Festival, Joaquin Phoenix decided to walk the subway for animal rights.
More and more people are fully embracing animal rights, and when those people are Hollywood stars it booms and goes viral. It happens (also) in Toronto, where three-time Oscar nominee, vegan actor Joaquin Phoenix immediately joined an animal rights march.
Landed in the Canadian city on the occasion of a gala held in his honor at the Toronto Film Festival and back from his triumph in Venice (Golden Lion for the Joker by Todd Phillips in which he is the protagonist), Joaquin Phoenix took part in the association's march BeFairBeVegan in defense of animal rights that in the St. George underground station displayed the signs of a provocative campaign against speciesist violence.
BeFairBeVegan was hosting an event inside the subway, complete with shocking pro-vegan messages like "Imagine you were born to be caged".

"Vegan since the age of three - they say from the association - Phoenix has slowly moved towards the cause of animal rights, expressing its support for BeFairBeVegan already in 2016, when the campaign was presented in New York City".
BeFairBeVegan's message focuses on inner experiences of animals that we use for food, to produce textiles, in research, as entertainment and for other exploitative purposes and those advertisements are intended to remind us that it is the choices of each individual consumer that reduce their feelings into slavery.
BeFairBeVegan's campaign will feature ads on 20 murals and 10 transit shelter posters across Toronto.
Phoenix is also a member of PETA (from which he received the Humanitarian Award) and is on the board of directors of The Lunchbox Fund, a non-profit that distributes ready-made meals to Soweto's most deprived students.
