Bryce Casavant, Canadian forest ranger, was suspended from duty. But not for violating its duty to protect wildlife. The man disobeyed the order to kill two defenseless bear cubs orphaned following theculling of their mother.

It all started with some reports of a female brown bear breaking into a home in rural British Columbia with her two young cubs. Officer Casavant and local firefighters were immediately dispatched to the 'crime scene'. The upper floors to which the rescuers were headed have decided to kill the mother, even if it meant making the little ones orphans.

The guard, however, defying orders to euthanize even puppies, collected the frightened babies and arranged for them to arrive at a shelter, the North Island Wildlife Recovery Center. This decision put his work in jeopardy, refers Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

The action, however, conquered the people of the web, who launched a petition on change.org, with more than 190.000 signatures, asking for the man to be reinstated. In his Twitter profile, Canadian actor and comedian Ricky Gervais, who has always given his support for campaigns to save animals around the world, takes the defenses of this hero guard:

In light of people's extraordinary response to this story, the guard has resumed receiving part of his salary, also is still in the suspension phase. As for the cubs he rescued, North Island Wildlife Recovery Center staff appear to be optimistic about a release into the wild and they are not dangerous to humans at all.

And the thought runs fast to "ours" Daniza...
