I Dolphins they talk to each other like humans, communicating through long conversations. Scientists recorded them for the first time thanks to an underwater microphone that distinguishes the different voices of animals.

Researchers have known for years that dolphins have an advanced form of communication and who use different tones of voice and verses to communicate happiness, stress or the fact that they are separated from the group.

Thanks to the recordings, scientists have now discovered that dolphins alter the volume and frequency of their 'words' to form real phrases, as we humans do.

In particular, researchers from the Karadag Nature Reserve in Russia recorded the conversation of two dolphins, Yasha e Yana. Each dolphin listened to what the other had to say before replying. The new research was published in the scientific journal Mathematics and Phisics.

Each part of the dolphins' sentences represents a phoneme or word of their special language according to the researchers. The dolphins they do not interrupt each other when they converse. They listen to each other and their language has characteristics similar to that of humans. It is in fact a very developed language.

Yasha and Yana uttered sentences of about five 'words' but scientists are not yet able to understand its meaning. It will be man who will have to create the tools that will allow him to create a communication bridge to understand the language of dolphins which are among the most intelligent animals on the planet, as suggested by the researchers.

In 2007 a group of Australian scientists had tried translate the language of dolphins identifying some 'words' that could mean "I am here, where are you?", "Hurry up" and "Here is some food". Dolphins also seem to use a sign language and that communicate with the movements of the fins.

Who knows if sooner or later we will be able to understand what the dolphins would like to communicate to us….
