Along the coast of Norway on 28 January a whale was found dying due to the plastic bags it had ingested.

One was found along the coasts of Norway on 28 January whale reduced to death due to plastic bags that he had ingested.

For the experts who have looked into the situation this is not something surprising given that plastic continues to pollute seas and oceans because of the waste that continuously ends up in the water.

Here is the evidence that plastic bags can really kill sea creatures, including large animals such as whales.

Unfortunately, the whale found on the Norwegian coasts of the island of Sotra was no longer able to absorb the nutrients necessary to survive precisely because of the plastic bags it ingested and which were extracted from its stomach only after death.

In addition to at least 30 bags various pieces of plastic were found in the whale's belly, which makes us understand even more how much waste abandoned in seas and oceans can be harmful to animals.

When it was found, the whale was already dying and was near the coast, in very shallow water. The whale's stomach was full of plastic bags and packaging with labels in Danish and English, as verified by experts from the University of Bergen who dealt with the case.

The whale was emaciated, with very little fat in the body, a characteristic from which it was easy to assess malnutrition. The whale's stomach and intestines were blocked by plastic bags, which caused severe pain according to experts. This whale species usually swims in deep water and does not come close to the coasts of Norway.

According to experts at least exist 5 billion waste and pieces of plastic floating in the oceans of the world. They are a sign of the throwaway society and are killing countless animals every year. It has now been estimated that at this rate by 2050 there will be more plastic waste than fish in the oceans.

Above all in the world the problem of disposable plastic bags persists, which just seems impossible to replace with reusable cloth bags or at least with easily recyclable paper bags. We all have to change habits first of all, otherwise plastic, in the form of waste, will not only continue to kill animals but will suffocate the entire planet.
