The two had been separated when the woman was moved from her home in Westcott, England, to a retirement home. He'd picked up the cat on the street in Richmond a few years earlier and until then they had spent all their days together. Then the departure. And Cleo was left in the care of the neighbors.
"About two weeks after Nancy moved, this cat has started walking around here and sleeping on the benches. It was very strange, ”property employee Laura Costello tells the Dorking and Leatherhead Advertiser.
The staff began making friends with the cat, cuddling and feeding it. Only a few weeks later, by chance, the old woman saw the cat and exclaimed: "This cat looks at me like my cat", explaining that her Cleo he had lost part of his tail in a car accident. The employees then looked at the cat and realized that, in fact, even the cat that appeared at the nursing home did not have its tail intact. Everyone wondered if it really was the old woman's pet.
The dilemma was finally dissolved with the arrival of Nancy's sister, who confirmed the identity of the guest with the whiskers. It really was Cleo, Nancy's cat. Clearly inseparable, the two now continue to live together in the same building. It remains a mystery how exactly she managed to find the nursing home. Perhaps the answer is simpler than expected: where there is the heart, there is home.
