Bear cub climbs a tree in Gorizia and is rescued by the Fire Brigade

A bear cub, perhaps frightened by traffic, climbed a tree in Gorizia and was saved by firefighters and the forest

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

The cliché has it that, among their various activities, the Fire Brigade also save the kittens who cannot or do not want to get off the trees. This time, however, the rescue does not have a cat as its protagonist but rather a bear cub that in Gorizia had climbed a tree, probably in search of refuge.

Last night the Gorizia Fire Brigade found themselves facing a more unique than rare emergency. A little bear of about 35 kilos he had climbed a tree in Via Garzarolli, in the area behind the Castle of Gorizia.

Some passersby noticed it in the branches and immediately reported the thing. The brigade immediately intervened and, thanks also to the Carabinieri who closed the road to traffic, they managed to rescue the bear, which was then entrusted to the care of the Forestry.

It is not well known where the bear came from (perhaps through the Rafut pass in neighboring Slovenia) and not even where the mother, who presumably was nearby, ended up.

So there is now some apprehension about trying to figure out if an adult bear is still in the area.
