A firefighter finds a baby armadillo in the burning forest and offers him a glass of water, demonstrating a sensitivity that must be rewarded.
The firefighters of Mato Grosso were exploring a farm hit by flames when, on the road, a small helpless armadillo, yet another victim of the fires that are ravaging the Amazon.
Moved by the animal, Sergeant Pedro Ribas Alves offered him some water to drink, a gesture of tenderness and sensitivity immortalized in an exciting shot.
Initially the armadillo, identified on August 16 between the municipalities of Nova Mutum and Sao Jose do Rio Claro, 269 and 325 km from Cuiabá, was offered water from the hydration pack, but having refused, the sergeant decided to try with a plastic cup.
Soon after, the firefighters saw other puppies arrive, fortunately survived to the flames, unlike other animals found burned and condemned, innocent, to a violent death.
Armadillos were among the few survivors of the tragedy in an area of 766 hectares completely devastated. Congratulations to the Mato Grosso fighters for their hard work and tender heart!
