He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Her name is Alba, she has big blue eyes and she is the only specimen in the world of albino orangutan. Five years old, orphan, she was saved by Bos, from a life of imprisonment and captivity. Work is now underway to create a nature reserve and everyone's contribution is needed.

Alba was found on April 29 in poor condition in a village of Tanggirang in Kapuas Hulu, in central Kalimantan in Indonesia. Undernourished and suffering, the albino orangutan had been fed only cane sugar for the first few days.

Captured illegally and kept in a cage, very fearful, Alba still had a savage attitude showing that luckily, there could still be some hope of freeing her without serious consequences from captivity.

Thanks to the work of the Borneo Orangutan Survival, the animal had slowly recovered, quickly regaining weight. Depressed and full of parasites, Alba (name chosen through the hashtag #albinoorangutan) has started her new life.

Now he eats fruit and more, but the Bos staff is in action to find a home. As we know, orangutans live in the wild forest of the Indonesian islands, but in recent years due to deforestation, palm oil and climate change they are increasingly in danger.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, orangutans are considered an endangered species mainly because their numbers have dropped by two-thirds since the XNUMXs. We could therefore say that Alba is a unique albino orangutan.

This is why he fears for his life. The foundation's goal is to set her free, but the fear is that she will be captured again. In addition, her health problems encountered during hospitalization and her being albino make him prone to skin cancers.

Without forgetting the danger of poachers. Work is underway to create a 12-hectare reserve surrounded by forest at the Kalimantan Rehabilitation Center, Borneo, where Alba would live with two other orangutans who were rescued with her.

Palm oil is a major contributor to the extinction of orangutans:
