The protagonist of this story is called Pusha and she is a cat who lives in Bakhchisaray, a city near the capital of Crimea. The loving mom found some squirrel cubs left alone and she didn't think twice: she adopted them.
From that moment the cat and the squirrels sleep, eat and play together. They essentially live as if they were a family, regardless of whether they are of the same race.
As soon as she hears her babies cry, she breastfeeds them and feeds them with love as if they were her real children. In the photographs taken by Reuters it is possible to see the squirrels curled up and asleep with the mother cat cuddling, climbing on her and in some cases it seems that they are exchanging kisses.
