A sailor intent on navigating the stretch of sea between Porec and Chioggia found a turtle suffocated by plastic.
He was sailing in the stretch of the Adriatic Sea between Porec and Chioggia, when suddenly he came across a gruesome scene. A poor turtle suffocated by plastic. The sailor, saddened by the discovery, published a post on the facebook group "Velisti in Facebook", writing:

Unfortunately it is just another episode, the turtles and marine animals that lose their lives by ingesting plastic, mistaking it for food, are innumerable. And in particular the sea turtle is one of the species most at risk of ingestion and entrapment by plastic waste dispersed in the sea.

As we reported in this article, in the first half of 2021, "of the 230 sea turtles that were found in distress and taken to the WWF recovery centers of Molfetta and Policoro, about 30 released plastic in the tanks or in any case had plastic waste in the stomach or intestines, which have caused more or less serious consequences on their health.
