Mexican actress, Yalitza Aparicio, could play Disney princess, Pocahontas, in next live action

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Although the conditional is still a must because neither from the actress nor from Disney has the official confirmation arrived, to play Pocahontas in the next live action, it could be Yalitza Aparicio who for some time has been giving a voice to the indigenous tribes.

Listed in 2019 by Time as one of the 100 most influential personalities in the world, actress Yalitza Aparicio, the only Mexican artist nominated for an Oscar for years, has been fighting against discrimination and hatred of indigenous peoples, increasingly under attack on the street of the coveted ancestral lands.

Unesco ambassador for indigenous peoples, Yalitza Aparicio could be a modern day Pocahontas. In fact, she shares determination, courage and a fighting spirit with the Disney heroine. While the cartoon character fought against colonialism, the actress reaffirms her commitment against racial hatred and in favor of women's rights.

Born in 1993 in Tlaxiaco, in the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico, we admired her in the film Roma, when she played the role of an indigenous Mixtec-speaking nanny spoken by her paternal family.

Actress by chance, with her grace Yalitza Aparicio, somehow, brings out indigenous women, distances them from their invisibility, embodies ideals of pride and shines with its own light. In her tribe's past there are stories of colonialism and blood. Her story is intertwined with that of Pocahontas who really existed.

Daughter of the tribal chief of the Powhatans, she had been kidnapped by settlers and brought to England as a symbol of native civilization. She was born around 1595, her real name was Matoaka that is "Shining river between two mountains", although it appears that she was sometimes called Pocahontas ("playful spirit") for her lively soul. Although she died very young, the story tells us that she was a courageous and strong woman, who guaranteed peace to her people for over 8 years.

And Yalitza Aparicio in her own way continues to fight against racist insults and to defend her people.
