The supermarket chain Unes has issued a food alert concerning a batch of tropical shrimp "Jumbo". The withdrawal was necessary as there is a risk of listeria contamination.

Unes has communicated through its website the withdrawal of Shrimp of the Sea Fish brand manufactured by Heiploeg International BV at the Panserweg 14 plant in Zoutkamp, the Netherlands. The recall is due to the "presence of Listeria Monocytogenes”, A dangerous pathogen that can develop more or less severe food poisoning depending on the case.

In particular, the recall concerns the lot 2021230293 with a minimum expiry date of 2/07/2021, already exceeded at the time of the recall which was issued only on 8/07/2021.

However, someone could still have the prawns (perhaps frozen), so it is good to check and if the batch matches, immediately return the package to the store for a refund.
