A new food alert was announced in the Ministry's “Safety Alerts” section. According to the document, the basil pesto without garlic produced by Pastificio Novella cannot be consumed because it is considered

does not comply with the food safety criteria referred to in Reg. 2073/05.

No further details were provided on the reasons that led the company to report the recall to the ministerial authorities. What we do know is that it is a "microbiological risk". In any case, if you have bought it, check the lot and avoid consuming them. The product is sold in Esselunga supermarkets.

All the details on the withdrawn pesto

According to what is reported in the notice, it is the Genoese Pesto without garlic from the Pastificio Novella Sas. The lot withdrawn is L171, in the 130 gram format and with expiry date 19/06/2021. The Ministry also says:

Consumers in possession of this lot are advised to return the product in question to the point of sale. For information contact the Pastifcio Novella directly on 0185 / 700.812
