“While in the rest of the world there is talk of COVID19, in the Syrian war, nine-year-old girls are raped every day and forced into sexual slavery. Children are continually tortured, forced into military training and used to kill in war. Many children are shot by snipers and used as "bait" for a war that is not theirs ".

After nearly nine years, Syrian children continue to face unprecedented levels of suffering and pain. This is what emerged from the latest report by UN inspectors on the Syrian conflict.

Over the past nine years, millions of children have grown up in a war zone. Sunday 15 March marked the nine years since the start of the war in Syria. As we enter the tenth year of conflict, children continue to pay the final price of a war created by adults. In 2019 alone, over 900 children were killed and hundreds maimed. These are only the dead that have been verified. The true number is much higher.

Many have seen their parents, siblings or schoolmates killed in front of their eyes. This war is something no child should experience, yet millions do. They have lost their childhood and, for many of them, the future is already badly compromised.

“I spent 30 years of my life in the South of the world to tell the tragedy of wars, especially the forgotten one. I have always devoted my attention to what I call "The War of the Latter", those children who have never chosen to live in a war-torn country, those children who have lost their childhood, those children who have no future " , explains the reporter on his blog.

Nobody talks about all this, nobody does anything for them, as if the problem did not exist.

Yet these children are there. Let's make them visible.
