A science teacher shows in a video an old McDonald's menu bought in 1996. Burgers and fries have remained in a shoe box all this time and now, reopening the whole 24 years later, the surprise: they are perfectly preserved!

This isn't the first time, actually, that someone has noticed that McDonald's burgers have aged particularly well. For example, the one preserved in Iceland is famous. This is the last sandwich sold on the island by the well-known fast food restaurant which then closed its doors for good in 2009. Preserved in a display case, it is still whole today.

The American science professor, the protagonist of this new experiment, has posted a video on her niece's TikTok profile. In the images you can see the woman asking: “Do you want to see my hamburger? She lives in a box in the closet ”and then she takes the sandwich and fries out of the box and paper in which they were stored that bears an advertisement for a 1996 race.

This is precisely the year of purchase of the McDonald's menu which, as you can see, is no longer very fresh but not even worn or moldy, as you would expect from a food spent all this time.

“I'm not sure what would happen if I ate it,” comments the teacher wryly.

The “secret” of the preservation of this and other record-breaking McDonald's sandwiches obviously lies in the fact that the ingredients of burgers, fries, etc. some chemicals are combined to make them last longer. This is precisely preservatives.
