I WEEE, electronic waste related to new technologies, are recovered and reused to be transformed into artwork creative within the project WEEE in Prison and now become little man of one show which will be possible to visit from today, April 8, until April 22 at the headquarters of the Region a Bologna.

The exhibition was organized under the patronage of Region and Ministry of Justice and with the support of the consortium Ecolight. The aim of the project consists in the socio-labor inclusion of disadvantaged people in criminal execution or returning from prison, for whom competent accompaniment is required that favors their reintegration into civil life community and legality.

In Bologna, Forlì and Ferrara they have been launched since 2009 three production workshops, thanks to which inmates and ex-inmates deal with the transformation of waste from electrical and electronic equipment, among which we find, for example, cell phones, computers, hairdryers and washing machines, into furnishings, installations and jewelry.

Le social and environmental purposes of the project are enriched by the artistic value that the handicrafts receive thanks to the creative recycling interventions put in place by those who find themselves serving a sentence in prison or by those who, returning from it, are looking for a concrete possibility of social reintegration.

At the basis of the works presented at the Bologna exhibition is the concept according to which every object, first considered as a waste, can recover the lost value turning into a work of art that everyone will be able to appreciate and admire. Likewise, those who have lived a life on the fringes of society will be able to find aopportunity to be reborn.
