British designer Vivienne Westwood read her “Letters to the Earth” on Monday 19 October, on the occasion of a campaign that calls for action against climate change in view of COP26.

The XNUMX-year-old stylist, who has been involved in supporting social and environmental battles for years, took the stage at London's Shakespeare's Globe Theater to read her message:

The word economy means "managing our home". The Earth is our home, so on a global scale "economy" means "sustainability". We don't have it. We have no future. Tomorrow is too late.

Founded in 2019, the global campaign saw the likes of Yoko Ono and Oscar winner Mark Rylance join forces with adults and children to write messages in defense of the Planet.

Westwood called for an Earth-based economy and greater wildlife protection:

“Rewilding” does not mean giving up farming and letting go of everything, but starting an agriculture in collaboration with nature. Let nature restore the soil to health

    explains the woman, and continues:

It's just another COP, it's another loophole, it's just garbage. We won't get anything unless they address the problem. The problem is, you have to change the economy

Kay Michael, co-director and founder of the 'Letters to the Earth' campaign, said:

We believe we must invite people to express their vision for a better world

Monday's recordings will be released on 25 October, one week before the start of the COP26 Summit in Glasgow.
