As for the mental health, the scholars observed that patients with deficiency were about 11 times more likely to develop depression than those with optimal levels of the vitamin. However, more research is needed in this area to come to a firm conclusion.



Therefore, in case of these symptoms it is advisable to consult your doctor and take supplements, also to strengthen the immune system and help fight infections typical of this period. In addition to supplements, however, another way to increase vitamin D levels during the winter is supplement this essential micronutrient through the diet, preferring, for example, foods such as mushrooms, chicory, black cabbage and broccoli.
