Vaccines also compulsory in Trieste to enroll children in school

The Municipal Council of Trieste has adopted the same measure as in Emilia Romagna: from next year anti-diphtheria, anti-tetanus, anti-polyomyetic and mandatory anti-hepatitis B immunization.

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Trieste: the story of the obligation of vaccines for the children who attend is replicated nursery and nursery schools. Exactly like in Emilia Romagna where, from next year, only those who are vaccinated will enter kindergartens, so also the Trieste city council has launched the same measure: from next year anti-diphtheria, anti-tetanus, anti-polyomyetic and mandatory anti-hepatitis B immunization.

The obligation will trigger a January for enrollments in municipal and affiliated nurseries for the next school year 2017-18. The obligation will apply to both children in nursery schools - from zero to three years - and for those in nursery schools - from three to six years -, for a total of about 4 thousand children. Parents will have to guarantee with aself-certification the vaccination has taken place which, in any case, can be further verified.

"On the subject of compulsory vaccinations, work was already underway - said Councilor Angela Brandi - also in consideration of a situation that is becoming alarming with a threshold of 95% (diphtheria 89.8%, tetanus 91%, hepatitis B 89% and poliomyelitis 90.2%), due to various reasons, ranging from bad information to climate change, globalization and mobility ".

In short, as well as in Emilia Romagna (to be honest also in Lazio the president Zingaretti had feared the same thing), the reason why the institutional bodies are intervening with such emphasis on the issue of vaccines is "because these diseases are returning and we must equip ourselves to protect public health".

A debate in full swing e a divisive topic and it will probably always divide skeptics and staunch supporters. They do not think like Emilia, Friuli and Lazio, for example, regions like Lombardia and Liguria, from where they let it be known that “we are engaged in a very articulated information campaign because vaccinations are fundamental. But with the information we believe that freedom of choice is fundamental".

Freedom of choice or aut or to be imposed on all parents? In terms of vaccinations, the situation is very complex and there is no absolute truth.

What is certain is that pure autonomy in the choices concerning one's children remains a fundamental pillar.
