In eastern countries, turmeric is used not only for cooking and as a natural remedy for the treatment of certain health ailments but also for the care of the skin of the face, body and hair.

Even in the case of beauty, turmeric is useful thanks to its main active ingredient (curcumin), a yellow pigment with powerful antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. This spice applied to acne-prone skin or where pimples often appear is very useful in eliminating infections at the same time by acting on the inflamed areas thanks to its soothing and healing action. Turmeric also has antioxidant qualities and masks are therefore also recommended for those who want to limit the signs of aging on their face.

The masks we present to you must be applied regularly (1/2 times a week) to have a skin without imperfections and brighter. Particularly suitable for acne and oily skin.

Turmeric mask, chickpea flour and rose water

In addition to turmeric, in this DIY mask recipe we find chickpea flour, useful for absorbing excess oil from the skin and therefore able to gently cleanse and purify the pores, preventing them from becoming infected. Rose water, on the other hand, acts as an astringent and tonic for the skin.

ingredients:

Organic turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
Chickpea flour - 2 tbsp
Rose water

Preparation

Combine the turmeric powder and chickpea flour in a bowl, add just enough rose water to make the mask creamy. Mix well and finally apply on the skin of the face, leave for 10-15 minutes and wash off with cold water. Then gently pat dry and apply a light moisturizer if the skin feels dry. You can use this mask twice a week.

Turmeric and coconut oil mask

Coconut oil is another great remedy to help eliminate acne and pimples. This light oil consists mainly of medium-chain fatty acids that are easily absorbed by the skin. It is a remedy capable of restoring the skin's natural balance in terms of sebum production and has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

ingredients:

Organic turmeric powder - 2 tbsp
Extra virgin coconut oil (to taste)

Preparation

Combine together enough turmeric powder and melted coconut oil in a bowl to create an easily spreadable face mask. After mixing well, the mixture should be applied to the areas to be treated with the help of a cosmetic brush and left to act for 15-20 minutes before washing it off with warm water. It can be applied 2/3 times a week.
