    Tui Na, therefore, rests on the same theoretical basis as its other practices (acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, medical dietetics, Qi Gong and complementary techniques), but can be considered a discipline in its own right: those who practice it, in fact, act on the organism through the activation of the so-called "Defensive Energy" (WEI QI) and natural homeostatic resources. It works precisely on those meridians that put in external contact with internal, manipulating and stimulating the skin as the most superficial layer of the body and thus re-establishing a harmonious flow of both blood and vital energy.

    What does the massage consist of? - In practice, the massage consists of a series of joint manipulations and muscle strains that make it dynamic, always "personalized" and in accordance with the "energy evaluation" that is done first on the patient. Includes muscle massage techniques, techniques of traction and mobilization on the vertebrae and joints, acupressure on the energy points and movements of pressure, friction, "rolling" and "kneading".

    When not to do it - It is better not to practice the Tui Na massage in cases of severe heart or liver disease, in case of advanced pregnancy or at risk of gastric or intestinal perforation. Finally, even debilitated elderly subjects, those who have infectious diseases and injuries of the spine or spinal cord cannot practice it.
